These past few weeks have been an interesting mix of letting go and welcoming in the energies of the south. There is much talk from those who know far more than I on such matters as planetary, shifts, retrogrades, eclipses and the solstice and the huge mix of energies affecting us all at one level or another. So this seemed as good a time as any to take myself out of my day to day life and spend some time saying goodbye to the fire of the east and hello to the south and making a firm connection to the earth. My tendency as a Librarian is to float around in the air with my head in the clouds, so the opportunity invited by a fellow soul to spend some time upon the moors in a tent amongst the elements. Felt like one not to be missed. What first appeared to be some time away to recharge and renew turned out to be a far more significant time of transformation. There have been lessons at every turn and synchronicities that a few years ago before embarking on this spiritual journey would have eluded me. I suppose the reason for this blog is just that, to highlight the fact that the key intention of dedicating yourself to a spiritual path is all that is really needed to learn the lessons and notice the blessings along the way. Like I said I may not have all the knowledge of the planets, the tools, the whys and wherefores to understand the significance of mercury retrograde but what i do have is an external spirit shrouded in a human body. Whilst there were many, many lessons during this particular trip (some of which I’ll probably choose to write about in future blogs) the one i wish to highlight here is that amongst all the paraphernalia the should’s and shouldn’t the dos and don’ts of what it is to think, feel, act, Be spiritual, all you really need is to be human. That’s it, nothing more, nothing less. A human heart and a willingness to surrender to your own soul are the only things needed to set you upon the spiritual path. So beautifully simple that for me I know it’s easily overlooked. So with that thought and my recent trip in mind I head into the south with a deepening appreciation that some of the many lessons of the earth are in its simplicity.
